We absolutely fell in love with their as-yet-unrated '09 Sav Blanc (evocative of a great white Bordeaux), but their reds aren't shabby either (Parker rated the '07 Napa Cab at 93 points, and the '06 Poetry at 94, and said, "Readers looking for a future superstar from Napa need look no further!").

The last time we visited cool-climate Chard/Pinot specialist Keller Estate, we noticed some specially marked bottles of their "La Cruz" single-vineyard Pinot tucked away behind the winemaker's desk. It turns out that each year the winemaker hand-bottles a few cases of each unique clone -- direct from barrel -- before blending all the different lots together to make the final Keller Estate La Cruz vineyard Pinot bottling.
