- Pinot Paradise
- Sexy Santa Barbara Sampler
Dear Friends,
Thanks to all those who could join us at the Sideways private screening party last week and apologies to the 100 people on the waiting list -- this turned out to be more popular than we imagined (we sold out in less than 12hrs).
Riedel jumped in and donated Vinum Burgundy glasses for us to enjoy on the
night (these are my personal favorites for drinking Pinot, and cult-winemaker
Sean Thackrey actually uses this same glass to taste all his Syrahs as
well). The Virgin Premier Screen setup was great -- private lounge and
garden, and
big seats with tables between them for drinks -- well worth checking out,
even if you can't see Sideways there. Huge thanks to Riedel and Virgin,
and to all who came and enjoyed. For a few fun shots from the event, please

To commemorate the best wine movie of all time, we're happy to offer two new mixed cases for your enjoyment:
PINOT PARADISE MIXED CASE
For those who'd like to get a bit deeper into the sexy-but-cerebral world of Pinot Noir, we've put together a mixed case of some of the top Pinots from California's best regions. This luscious box includes Pinot Noir from Flowers (Sonoma Coast), Siduri (Sonoma/Santa Lucia Highlands), Mueller (Russian River), and Lane Tanner (Santa Maria, aka Sideways country!).

SEXY SANTA BARBARA SAMPLER
Hotei's Bill Campbell grew up in the Dry Creek Valley -- ground zero for Sonoma County's best Zins -- but he went to high school in Santa Barbara, so we've always had a soft spot for what many people consider the "fly-over" territory between San Francisco and LA.
Five years ago, we took a serious look at Santa Barbara's emerging wine industry. After weeks of barrel tasting at nearly two dozen different wineries (it's a tough life, but someone's got to do it), we choose three artisan winemakers to add to our portfolio.
Fred Brander is a Sauvignon Blanc fanatic who can coax more characteristics
out of that grape than there are keys on a piano (we call him the Miles Davis
of Sauvignon Blanc). Lane Tanner is one of the sexiest Pinot makers alive
(if you think we're kidding, check out her "cold soak" shot at http://www.lanetannerwinery.com ). Craig Jaffurs is a Rhone varietal specialist, focusing on ethereal Viognier and deeply smoky Syrah. We've chosen our two favorite bottlings from each for an exquisite best-of-the-best Santa Barbara Sampler. Find out what the fuss o
ver the Central Coast is all about!
